My name is Mikael Linusson. This web site is basically a vehicle for my music collection, a database I started building a long time ago, after buying Metallica's Master of Puppets on CD for the second time. I then realised that my CD collection had grown to the point that I no longer were able to remember which albums I had purchased. I was also interetsting in learning to program in PHP and MySQL, so it seemed inevitable what to do.

Initially the database only contained the albums I owned, both on vinyl and on CD. When those records were added I realised that a wishlist would be a good idea, which led to the inclusion of albums I didn't own yet. Then the database really started to grow, since my music interest isn't limited to specific genres, but rather is universal. And the databse became more of a way to rank albums through a rating system I had developed.
